So excited to learn my photo of my grandson Finn was selected as the grand prize winner for the 2016 Kids in Nature Photo Contest.
Every year, Skagit Flats is home to both the La Conner Daffodil Festival in March and the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April. I live within a half hour drive of this beautiful area so I travel there often to capture the rainbow of colors from golden daffodils to reds, purples, pinks and yellow tulips with my camera. I was honored to have my photo, "Flowers and Flight" chosen for the 2016 La Connor Daffodil Festival poster. This year I am working with "Visit Skagit Valley", "Love La Conner", and "Tulip Town" to photograph and promote visitors to come and view these picturesque fields. My photos have been featured not only locally but also in the Los Angeles Times. Stop by and see the acres of vibrant colors. You won't be disappointed. And if you are lucky, you might see the flocks of snow geese that winter here.
I photographed a very special service dog that is the Collie Club of America's Shining Star. As Corinne so eloquently wrote, "Forte' is so expressive with his eyes! It's like he can see deeply into my soul and knows what I need. He is a grand champion with titles in front and behind his name, but most of all, he is a grand champion in heart, and my partner and friend." Here is a link to the video. As everyone gets ready for the joys of Christmas, I worked on some composites for the holidays from a recent photo shoot of a 4 generation extended family. The weather was windy, rainy and cold. We did the shoot at a local elementary school covered site. It was not very scenic but at least we were out of the rain. The family dressed in red and we made the best of it.
Did a photo shoot on the beach of this good looking senior. This is the second time that I have taken photos of him. I took several pictures at his cross country meet. He is also a swimmer where he went to WIAA State for the past 2 years.
This week I did several outdoor senior portraits. This young man was strikingly handsome. His Mom accompanied us on this photo shoot. She was a very proud Mom and rightfully so. He is a well-rounded person who plays several instruments and participated in sports. His Mom wanted photos with one of his instruments and his car. These pictures will be memories of his high school days.
I love the beautiful fall season with all the vibrant leaves and trees. One of the best ways to capture Fall is through the eyes of a one year old. I spent an hour chasing him around the yard snapping photos. It was so fun! Thank you Julia and James!!!!
I was a cheerleading coach for 18 years at Oak Harbor High School. One of the best parts is to see those cheerleaders all grown up with families of their own. I am honored when asked to photograph them. Click here for more photos.
I got to photograph Breanna and Tyson when she was pregnant with her second child. We returned to the same spot and this time took photos of their family a year later. They have 2 beautiful children and now live in Arlington. To see more, click here.
I knew Breanna and Tyson when they became high school sweethearts. She was a cheerleader and talked him into joining the team during his senior year. He cared about her so much that he agreed. The squad went on to win a national title in California. He always joked it was because he was on the team. A few years later, they married. I got to photograph their family while she was pregnant with their second child. Click here to see more.
